Water

The City maintains water wells and springs to provide potable water to the residents and businesses within the City.  Currently, there are approximately 3 cubic feet per second (CFS) of water annually. The cost for this service is set by Council resolution and is intended to cover the cost of acquisition, construction, reconstruction, administration, maintenance and operation, and treatment, if necessary, of the system, and to provide for the timely payment of principal and interest on any outstanding debt obligation.  In addition, the City maintains a fire protection system of fire hydrants and sprinklers connected to the system.  Revenue from rates may also be used to repay Federal, State, or other loans, and bonds issued by the City for the construction or reconstruction of the system.  Currently, the City has no outstanding loans or bonded indebtedness.
